I just want to add that I saw a nice diorama of a frost fair recently (is there anything like coincidence?). One could refer to the creator or put an image on h2g2. I saw it in the fascinating exhibition at the Globe, Southwark, London. As I live in Munich, probably another enthusiast could pursue this trace.
