Just picked up the following recipes from the Daily Mail gardening section:
For caterpillars, aphids and whitefly: Try growing horseradish. Add a 50mm length of HR root to two pints of water. Add 1 tsp of ground cayenne pepper and a handful of scented pelargonium leaves. Boil for 30', then strain and spray.
For slugs: Grow artemesia or wormwood. Harvest 200g of foliage. Add to 500ml of water, then simmer for 30'. Allow the solution to cool, then strain. Add 1 tsp of soap, then spray the soil or container of plants.
(Wonder if either of these work )

Might be an idea to try them, not that i have any southernwood to use They make nice shrubs, if you like that sort of thing. Come to think of it 200g of leaves would probably strip a small shrub
I'd love to know if they do work though.
If they do, then maybe that bit could be added to the entry?
Key: Complain about this post
