The conic shape notwithstanding, I submit that in their perceived flatness a rainbow actually has two ends...
Furthermore, when both of these ends are seen to be touching the earth - it can be described as being 'plugged in at both ends'.

I guess my brain is too literal, I thought one end was your fovea and the other the Sun. I was humming some SmashMouth.
