A Conversation for Baby Sex Selection
Infanticide in Punjab

To see what happens when sex selection goes to far I suggest reading this article. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/2723513.stm
In some villages in the Punjab and Haryana regions of India, prenatal sex determination and the resulting abortions and infanticide when females are detected has lead to some of the most skewed sex ratios in the world. Some villages are awash with bachelors, some of whom are resorting to "buying" brides from neighboring regions. Haryana has lost one quarter of its' female population.
I did find this article informative, but it does bring up some very "thorny" issues indeed.
