It's not just tragically insane in itself though. A few more places like this will devalue real museums. We've all grown up seeing museums as having authority - we may not have liked them much as kids, but we took them as being repositories of knowledge and truth. If there is a class of institutions called 'museums' and some of them show real history/science etc, and some of them have content like this, children growing up in a world in which both types exist won't be able to differentiate as we can.
(Maybe I should try laughing at it...
)
