The Crouch - Majestically flowing though East Essex home to many a sailing club and mentioned in War Of The worlds. Rises somewhere near Billericay, turns tidal at Battlesbridge and passes South Woodham Ferrers and Burnham on Crouch on the way to the North Sea.

The Thames – Having wandered down there this lunch and stood on Waterloo Bridge, it is still a fantastic sight, a working river in the heart of the City of London. Very few other rivers can have the sights on it that this has, from the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the South Bank, Houses of Parliament, Oxo building, Old Scotland Yard, Cleopatra’s Needle, London Bridge, London Eye, Greenwich, The Thames Barrier, to name just a lot.

The Mersey, For the song and for the Ferry. Also the viaduct over the Mersey in Stockport is regarded as one of the wonders of the industrial age. Another river that is tied (tide?) to its city.

The Colorado – for the Grand Canyon
