A Conversation for Adult Education

I've done many classes in Adult Ed, which fell under the title of Continuing Education, and from what appears to be a rather privileged position: single male, no children and self-supporting.
Some of the classes I took because I fancied the topics; I thought I'd chase something that I'd never acted on before. Others were 'strategic' choices: wanting to learn something of use in a new environment, which is changing constantly: The Web.
People are much more likely to work at something the've chosen, rather than put up with something the 'system's' imposed upon them....even if it's for their own good.
The mix of people who turn up for night classes can be remarkable; the important part is to remember that everyone's there to learn and are probably just as nervous as their neighbour.....and who wants to let on about that?

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
