It defies belief that a man could win gold medals at five consecutive Olympics in a discipline which is so specifically focussed on power delivery and aerobic fitness. People have won widely spaced medals before, but only in events like equestrianism, sailing, shooting, stuff like that. To be able to produce a world-best performance consistently over a period of sixteen years is incredible. That the person doing so is diabetic just compounds the "you're kidding" factor.

Exactamente!
The endurance & discipline to keep going in a sport like rowing for virtually two decades defies belief + with diabetes! It may be easy for someone like Marion Jones to look out for five Olympic gold medals @ the one Olympic Games, but Sir Steve Redgrave is arguably Britain's Greatest ever Olympian!

Oooh, almost forgot!
Slightly overshadowed by Redgrave, his ol' partner Matthew Pinsent with currently three Olympic golds to his name (but he's still going!).
How do they do it?!
