Nah, I'd look at h2g2 for a travel guide. It's actual recommendations of places to go definately trump Wikipedia's crappy NPOV descriptions of places.

I agree with your sentiments about NPOV, but DanFreak was talking about wikiguide rather than wikipedia. Unfortunately, he didn't provide a link.
