A Conversation for Necronomicon
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Apollyon - Grammar Fascist Started conversation Feb 3, 2003
It would appear that the Necronomicon was the inspiration for the Tome of Eternal Darkness in the GameCube game Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. The tome is made of human skin and bone("Wrought together with the oddest magickal (sic) incantation") and describes the efforts of various people to stop the rising of the Ancients (The Great Old Ones) over a period of 2000 years. Since Eternal Darkness featured insanity in no small quantity, I would be interested to know if this also turned up in the Necronomicon.

I *think* (not actually sure, as I've not read much Lovecraft--bit too much for me) that reading the Necronomicon made you insane...

Yo Amy. Yeah, the Tome does make you go a bit insane as you read it, but this could also have been taken from Edgar Allan Poe... I'll have to track down a copy of the Chthulu Mythos.
