Last chance to see...

I'm assuming most of you have read it, but DNA's "Last chance to see" is well worth the time.

I have - it's his own favourite book and although I don't delve into it as much of "Meaning of Liff," probably mine too

What was that Smildon?
You _didn't_ read it all the way through?
See you when you've finished it, Cat

I haven't had much time to do reading lately, what with coursework and up-coming exams

I finally got my copy of "Last Chance...", I read it right through on the day it arrived, and then took some time to re-read it.
Amazing!! and horrifying, I knew that man had taken his toll on the world, but this has opened my eyes.
I was however, pleasantly surprised by the attitude of the Chinese toward their Dolphins.
Do you how this or any of the other projects visited by Douglas are faring?
I bought Salmon Of Doubt this week, perhaps some of the answers are in there.
One more thing. God Bless Mr. Adams
Waste of Money?

We are continually hearing unofficial reports of sightings and the such of the thylacine here in Tasmania!People will tell you quietly, if they think they can trust you.I have had myself three people tell me of contact with thylacines ,all in the past three to four years, and heard second hand of many more.I do not know why we can not get anything officially recognised,or why it seems that sightings seem to be soaked up by buearocracy and we never hear anything of them.Having heard something I believe was maybe, possibly the real thing myself (I know nearly all the sounds around my home and when you here an animal/something you have never heard b4 ,you take note)I am remaining more open than everbefore about the possibilties of these creatures still living in Tasmania.

I read somewhere that sightings do not get officially recofnised because people are afraid that poaching and killing will begin afresh. I am sure that there are many in Tasmania who would wipe the thylacine out all over again if thay had the chance, just as there are people in Britain who would do the same to grey wolves if they were re-introduced

You are probably right in at least one respect, there will always be someone ready to exploit the animal kingdom, usually with regard only for their own pocket, it is a sad reflection on Man. Will we ever learn? I think not, but I remain hopeful
