My guess is that the Mossie will have taken off from the (then) RAF Predannack, near Helston. Although now a satellite base for RNAS Culdrose, at that time Wallis was there from time to time and indeed the rocket proving track can be still be seen in aerial photos.

It can be faintly made out just to the north west of the main runway and running parallel with it, from the intersection of runway 13, northeastwards.
