Burg Kreuzenstein

We made a trip to Burg Kreuzenstein yesterday. The original castle was destroyed at the end of the Thirty Years' War. In the 19th Century a descendant of the original owners (obviously a very rich man) 'rebuilt' it. Basically the new castle has probably no resemblance with the original building and the owner bought several parts of other buildings to put it into his castle. He also furnished and decorated it with his collection of actual medieval things. Nobody ever really lived there but it's really a very pretty castle.
