Chapter 23: Holy Grail!
They all ran out to the hallway (Ava slightly slower due to the high-heeled boots she wore) where Eddy pointed up to the ceiling.

The golden depiction of a chalice with a lamb in red was embedded in the centre of the ceiling.
'I can't remember ever seeing that there.' The Prime Minister said with a hint of surprise. 'It looks old, though, so it must have been there for ages. George, can you get me a stepladder, please? We would like to investigate this right away.'
The Guard ran off in search of a stepladder, in the hope that he wouldn't need a change of clothes again to become an investigator.
With the guard out of hearing range, the Prime Minister introduced herself as Caoilinn to Eddy and Wolfgang and pressed them to only use the name in private conversation.
'Can I be a spy? Eddy asked. 'I want to wear a tuxedo and chase bad guys or girls with a gun and drink lemonade all night!' Eddy pointed his index finger at his sister and said 'Pew, pew… You're dead.'
'We can arrange the tux and the lemonade tomorrow. For the gun, you need some training to explain the rules and fill out loads of paperwork. That will take a little longer, I expect.'
Caoilinn went back into the meeting room to write a note. When George returned with the official stepladder (bought under the reign of Sir Winston Churchill so that he could get his box of cigars from the top of the dresser) she handed him the note and told him to get it to 'M' immediately, with a wink.
Eddy got the honour of climbing the stepladder, being the only able person with suitable clothing for that.
'It comes right off. Catch it, Keeleen.'
Caoilinn just managed not to drop it. It was rather heavier than expected, given the apparent lack of effort from Eddy. With some help from Ava, she put the thing on the conference table. When all were gathered again they turned it over, showing strange markings on the back side.
'Only the Chosen can read this,' Ava started to read out aloud.
Caoilinn peered over her shoulder. 'Well, I can't read it…'
'I can,' said Eddy. 'Which is strange, because I normally struggle with reading normal English. This definitely isn't.'
'Does it say anything else?'
'Only the Chosen can safely activate the grail by entering the password.'
'The first statement suggests we are the Chosen, so shall we give it a try?'
'Do you know the password then? I don't. We don't know what will happen if we get it wrong, so maybe it can wait for a bit?' suggested Ava.
'Spoilsport!' Eddy moaned. 'All right then. Put it in the bag for later.'
Caoilinn yawned. 'Maybe it is better if we go and get some sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. I'll arrange that your school will not put you on the missing persons list when you don't show up. There is another apartment at the back of the building. I'll show you the way if someone can help me unbutton the back of this dress. Otherwise I'll have to sleep upright.' Ava told Eddy that it was probably safer if she did help with the unbuttoning while he went to find a bed for himself.
When Ava entered the apartment, she found Eddy already fast asleep, cuddling the duvet as a surrogate for his toy giraffe. She eventually managed to get herself unhooked at the back.
