Editor: Superfrenchie's photos turned the discussion to matters theological.
In French, hopscotch is called 'la marelle'. In German, 'Himmel und Hölle' or 'Tempelhüpfen'. (The board is a temple.)
I was disappointed that in the US, we'd missed the gnostic implications of hopscotching. But then I decided it was for the best. There would have mentions in sermons.
