A Conversation for Will Geer: Grandpa Walton, Communism, and the Shakespearean Garden

The Waltons

Post 1

I watched an episode of The Waltons at the weekend and Will Geer had a strong role.

Coincidentally the episode featured one of the Walton's relatives whose house had been proposed to be demolished to make way for a bypass or somesuch.

It was a powerful episode with debates that are relevant to modern situations too. It ended with a saccharine bedtime story and song for a child, which gave the episode a strange aftertaste, but overall I was pleased to have seen it smiley - ok
