Let's Hear It for Little Brown Jobs

The real owners of our garden, the sparrows. This handsome little boy is fresh out of the nest and hasn't quite got the hang of perching yet.

Willem the bird expert calls these birds 'Little Brown Jobs' because so many of them are hard to identify at a distance. As host to numerous LBJs in the backyard, the Post Editor is particularly fond of them, and agrees with Chris's assessment of their handsomeness. Not everybody needs to be a peacock.
