Create September 2018: Sowing and Reaping
September is usually the beginning of harvest season is the north temperate zone. What was planted in spring should now be ready to be gathered in. The hay should be ready for baling and the sunflowers filling with seeds. However, in some places this year, crops have withered in drought and people have fled from fires. Although the Bible says 'As ye sow, so shall ye reap', it doesn't always work that way. Have you seen situations where work has been rewarded by good harvests? On the other hand, have you seen people's efforts come to nothing?
- Have you seen how careful planning led to a good result?
- Have you been surprised by an unexpectedly good result to your (or other people's) labours?
- On the other hand, have you seen occasions where things have gone wrong?
- Do you plant things? Did you grow anything in your garden this year? What was the produce like? What did you do with it? Metaphors can be real, too, you know.
Share your literal and metaphorical bounty with us. Tell us about harvests, the people who gather them, and the times things go wrong.
