I watched a TV programme this evening on BBC Four - Railways: The Making of a Nation - that discussed some of the concepts in this Entry.
Some of it was a bit dubious, such as someone suggesting that trains eliminated people with learning disabilities (just because some groups of people became less visible didn't mean they didn't exist...). Mostly it was good, though, especially seeing replicas and real examples of the different carriages

Ooh, I didn't see that, I wonder if it's repeated…
I'm not watching anything on iPlayer at the moment as it is harder to hear than television, which means I've not started watching 'Class' yet.

I see it was a repeat - started on BBC One, then was on BBC Four on 20 October, so it will likely be on again later this month
