A Haunting Experience Look-a here: Magwitch carved us some jack-o-lanterns. Sorry, KB, we were out of turnips. This cheery reminder is here to tell you that in some places, 31 October is Halloween – ancient Celtic new year. Head over to the Isle of Man for some gingerbread and turnip-carving, or go door-to-door with the North Americans, who think it's all about sweets. (After all, you can thank the Columbian Exchange for that teeth-rotting chocolate.) |
