Update

Wilgils

This is a great piece but it needs to be updated. On December 5th 2013 the road to Spurn was washed away by the North Sea surge at the northern end. It is no longer possible to drive down Spurn for the general public. The RNLI and ABP employees use four wheel drives to get down but members of the public have to walk. And now the peninsula gets turned into an island at certain high tides care needs to be taken by visitors to avoid getting left on the wrong side of the breach! Spurn is still a wonderful place to visit though.

I posted a link to this thread to Editorial Feedback, at http://h2g2.com/feedback/A388334/conversation/view/F47997/T8312390 It's much more likely to be seen there by someone who can actually make changes :-)

Hello Wilgils smiley - smiley

I have now performed the update, thank you for the prompt! Are you local to the area? I live in Cleethorpes, just across the Humber but a long way round to Spurn! I always look for the smiley - lighthouse when walking along Cleethorpes Prom. By the way, have you seen this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-humber-24141102 which I've also added into the Entry. I wonder whether the conversion project is still on-going, I'll have to try and find outsmiley - biggrin
