A Conversation for Joining and Leaving a Minority Religion
Leaving and Uncertainty

Excellent article . In one of the last paragraphs in 'Joining and Leaving a Minority Religion' the writer says 'There is no longer the spiritual certainty around you; this new uncertainty is difficult to come to terms with' - and I'd like to pick up on this 'uncertainty'. It sounds like the person leaving is finding life bigger and more challenging than they are able to deal with. This is nothing new: they just need to learn how to cope. It is a fact of our western society that there is much disagreement and little information on precisely what we need to know. The beginning of learning is looking around, and of coping is the question, does this help me and if not, why not? Life's a bit like swimming, maybe.
