I really enjoyed this entry. I was involved with h2g2.com at the very beginning and I enjoy seeing this kind of entry very much indeed. Douglas would have been proud.

I'm a Londoner by birth and London history is a real interest of mine. Friends who have visited anywhere with me would certainly say that I knew a lot of odd facts! I've certainly got a lot of books that I have bought over many years and browse a lot. I've tried to pass on some of my knowledge to my daughters over the years and have given them walking tours of all kinds of obscure bits.

One of the highlights of the last few years was taking them to see the view of St Pauls as it hasn't been seen for more than a hundred years and won't be again, now that the new buildings are up. For just a few weeks, if you knew about it, the view was magnificant.

Did you have a question about history or do you share my love of the place?

Not quite sure about the protocol here but it might be fun to meet up for a drink. I'm the former CEO at h2g2 ( I founded the Company with Douglas) and I'd love to talk to somebody with your knowledge of London.

Dear Sir,

I saw your thread online from 2003 where you mentioned that you know about London history and I would very much like to make contact with you. Are you still available by any chance? I am very interested in getting a general sense for London's past and wondered if you might be able to share this with me.

Thank you very much in advance and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Joseph Cherrez
