On this first day of year 2133 greetings!

Thank you John and the same to you smiley - cheers
I see on the calendar that today is a Naga-Day, Tuesday is a Tara-Day and Thurday is a Guru Rinpoche Day. In a couple of weeks there's a Dakini Day. What does it all mean John?
I bought the calender on an impulse. I'm not at all clued up. I simply follow the smiley - magic path.

Those days are considered in Tibetan Buddhism to be especially good ones for prayers and offerings dedicated to Guru Rinpoche, Tara, and so on. I don't know much about it, I'm afraid. I gather that Tibetan astrology plays a part in determining the most auspicious days for various practises. Impulse buying is the ripening of karma. smiley - magic

Hi John, I've just posted the following link http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html on one of the Islamic conversations but I have the strange feeling I'm peeing against the wind. Can you promulgate this link whenever you have the opportunity. From what I'm reading when I browse the Islamic world on h2g2 it's really needed.
I know we Zen guys like to keep a cool profile but sometimes I get the feeling we can't stand idly by.
smiley - cheers

Certainly, I'll promote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights any way I can. It's one of the best things we have going for us and it's a travesty that so few people know about it.

Good on yer John!
In the garden I have about 6 snowdrops and the rest is snow. Are you really a gardener?

Yup, although there's not much sign of life at the moment, except for the odd tulip close to the house where it warms up the earliest.
