A Conversation for Turkish Delight

In America

Post 1

We have a variation in America made with fruit. They are sold by the name "Applets & Cotlets" because the original flavors were apple and apricot. Now, they come in raspberry, strawberry, and probably others. They have the dusting of confection sugar, and nuts inside. Available year round, they are especially common at holiday gatherings like Thanksgiving (late November) and Christmas. Older folks like 'em because they are soft to chew, but not so sticky as to cause problems with dental works. Home recipies call for baby food and gelatin.
