A Conversation for Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
ECT-ing...

Having worked around a lot of people who have experienced ECT, and having also been treated with it myself, I see that there are a LOT of differing perspectives. Some are helped, and others become even more confused. I believe it's like any other treatment. It may work fine for some, but actual results may vary. It doesn't seem to induce any long term harmful efects for the patient, as long as in the immediate post-procedure period that there exists adequate caregivers to assist the truly disoriented patient.
Personally, with the exception of getting some excellent meds, it was a non-event. I don't think I'd like it again, but would like more of the meds they gave me, heeheehee!
