h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

For over forty years the City where Malcolm grew up would not honor his memory. As the Demographics shifted and their was a large black population in Lansing a school began (a private charter acadamy) that bore his post-mecca name: The El Shabazz Academy. Finally in September of 2010 the City Council passed a resolution that will take effect in 2011 naming a street in Lansing,Michigan Malcolm-X Street. One of the arguments made for this naming was that in other parts of the world they looked up to the man. That it was time to look past the hoodlum of his youth and see the great reformer and spiritual leader that he had become.
