h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hes not funny, he's just a bit sad, in the unfunny sense. Hes up there with Phil Jupitus in the "always around, never funny" stakes.

I must admit, I've grown kinda bored with Johnny as well recently. Maybe it's because the material isn't as fresh as it once was.

Phill Jupitus is fun though. He's always a laugh on 'Buzzcocks'.

I never found him that hilarious to be honest, which is why subbing this was a bit of a strain.

But Phil Jupitus' stand-up is brilliant. If you ever get chance to see him live, you must.

i used to think Johnny was brilliant, and i still think hes good, but i have to agree that he's lost an elemnt of it recently. there were a few epiodes of that program (damn, whats it called?? the one with vic and bob. ill remember it in about 5 mis) where he was hilarious though.

Four years too late but I think he's funny. I watched Sex lives of the Potato Men and I was disgusted and I thought it was the worst film ever - and then I spent the next year chuckling about it.

In the Radio 4 play Night Class mentioned above where he plays a pottery teacher he asks his mother why she never loved him and why she never wore the ceramic hat he made for her.

Unlike almost every other comedian (possibly Les Dawson aside) there is this blurring between truth and reality. All comedy should have bathos and sadness and timing and Johnny Vegas has it all ...and a monkey.

And also it won a Sony award and was directed by Dirk Maggs who did Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy.

It did. He did. I think I mentioned it in my entry on Dirk - A2116586. Yep, I've just checked and I did.

This entry on Vegas was the first I ever wrote on hootoo. God, this takes me back.
