A Conversation for Stilton Cheese
What is double gloucester?

I thought I would try some Stilton. My local cheese shop in LA only has Stilton like cake layers, 'iced' or layered in some orange cheese. What is the orange cheese? Am I going to like this?

Bear with me. I now need to go down Al Jazira and buy 250g of each.

OK done that.
Red Leicester and Double Gloucester are 'orange' cheeses. RL is more orange (as orange as the tool bar in Alabaster) than DG, and is 'flakier'. RL attacks the side of your tongue with its zest.
DG is more mild in colour taste and texture, but still flavoursome. It is almost like an Edam I suppose. Next to a salb of RL, DG looks washed out, like its a fibre glass boat that's been bleached in the sun.
