A Conversation for Viewing Property

On the other hand, you might be lucky

This is a good comprehensive article, that ,I fortunately, have never had the need of.
Nearly 20 years ago I went into the estate agents then in our village and asked what they had in my (very low) price range. Agent fished out one set of particulars and told me to take my young children to the pub while he contacted the present owners to see if I could look at it at lunch time.
The only things left behind when I moved in were a couple of ghastly light fittings, dark brown carpets and the snooker table in the attic which is still in situ.
The surveyor said it needed rewiring. So the price of that was knocked off the selling price. Took the floorboards up to discover a very deep cellar. We have been/ are very happy there. We DO have a ghost, but the house is at least 250 years old, so it's OK if the floorboards creak a bit.
I don't think I'd be quite so cavalier next time, though. smiley - star
