On page http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A798195 it states that the Australian anthem is God Save The Queen.
If you'd care to check on the Australian Prime Minister's website http://www.pm.gov.au/aus_in_focus/nat_symbols/anthem.html you'll find it says "Advance Australia Fair was proclaimed as the national anthem by the Governor-General on 19 April 1984"

It does. But not the NATIONAL anthem which is, as you point out, "Advance Australia Fair". What the page says (and what is, in fact, the case) is that "God Save The Queen" is the Australian ROYAL Anthem, to be played whenever good Bessie herself is present at a do.
See, for example, http://www.dfat.gov.au/facts/nat_anthem.html. "In April 1984 the Governor-General issued a proclamation declaring that ‘God Save the Queen' was designated the Royal Anthem, to be played at public engagements in Australia attended by the Queen or members of the Royal family."
