I think this is a good idea and should be extended elsewhere in the UK. However I think the urinals would be better unlit or only dimly. This would provide more privacy and therefore mean that guys are more likely to use them, rather than sneaking up a dark alley. It would also solve your problem of vandalism. Ideally they need to be placed in some of these dark alleys where there is privacy and which are being used as urinals at present.

Apparently they've now had one installed in London, so they're slowly spreading along the Thames valley and then through out the country... Although they do really need to be lit somehow unless you want a wet sock...

There is now a second Urilift in Reading. By the current market place on St Mary's Butts... Dunno when it was installed though...
