as a huge fan of Queen I have never been able to face the thought of listening to this last album. silly eh?

This album is absolutely brilliant...but have the hankies near....

something that really makes me want to is the instramental version of 'In My Defence' at the end of the Freddie Mercury Solo collection DVD. It's a total tear-jerker.

Just some additional info for the Made In heaven album. Too Much Love Will Kill You and Heaven For Everyone are not the only songs that are revised, as far as the instruments are concerned (the vocals are the same as in the older versions, except for Too Much Love Will Kill You) for the album. Also Made In Heaven and I Was Born To Love You are included in Freddie Mercury's 1985 album Mr.Bad Guy.
If you listen carefully, you will notice that his voice has got a breathy sound, which is very different from any other song in the Made In Heaven album. And it is much more thin than in the newer songs, because the pitch of his voice had changed dramatically in the last years, though it did not affect his singing abilities.
Also, Mother love was the last song that Freddie ever wrote (co-wrote to be exact with Brian May) and the last recording he left us with. That is maybe the reason why it is the only song on which QUEEN broke their policy of not writing the composer of the song, but the band's name, as they did in the previous two records, after their financial quarreling in the 80s. The rumour is that it refers to Mary Austin, his girlfriend in the mid 70s and his life long friend. His voice on this particular song is haunting, considering the above, and it is probably one of the best songs he ever wrote (though one can say that for about every song he wrote...), and it can also be (as many of Queen lesser known songs) the reason for one to wonder why John Deacon has been given so little credit for his bass playing and musical ideas in general. He did, after all, write You're My Best Friend, I Want To Break Free, Another One Bites The Dust and the excellent One Year Of Love, among others.
Anyway, that's all for now. For the other Queen maniacs in the world, know that there is another version of Too Much Love Will Kill You, where Freddie splits the first verse in two, intercepted by the chorus, and it also has no guitar, and it is very hard to find, I got it by luck in a 1995 bootleg cd and I don't know if you can find it in the internet. Oh, and there is also a piano version by Brian May, where there are no vocals, and the same difficulties in finding it apply here too. There aren't even in the Freddie Mercury Solo collection of 10 cds and 2 DVD. Bwa-ha-ha-ha....(ok, I'm sorry)

I've heard the Brian May piano version of that song; Plus, I'll see your 10 CDs and 2 DVDs, and raise the ability to play it myself anytime I like.
