Gough Whitlam, the STILL legendary prime minister of Australia during the early 70's was ofen being harassed by (to him) a particularly annoying journalist.
One afternoon, during a press conference about a totally unrelated matter, the journalist in question interrupted Gough with a loud demand to know "what are you going to do about the the abortion issue, Mr Whitlam?"
Quick as a flash and in his inimitable style, Gough turned his head and said (although an understanding of Whitlam's amazing voice and manner of speaking helps here): "Well, in your case, we are considering making it retrospective."
