As H2G2's resident lottery fan, I feel it only appropriate to point out that The National Lottery is not "currently known as Lotto". It's still called "The National Lottery" - ie, the institution which raises money to be distributed by independent government bodies through the selling of tickets for a range of lottery style games. "Lotto" is simply the name of one of the games. In other words you could play any of the following "National Lottery Games" - Lotto, Thunderball, Hotpicks, Lotto Extra, Instants (of which there are several variants) etc. You wouldn't say "Cadburys - currently known as Dairy Milk", or "Vauxhall, currently known as Vectra" would you?
