Only a personal method, but I like it.
Full power in a microwave for 14 minutes, turning once, then into a pre-heated oven until crisp. (About 200 degrees)
Topping:-
Mix cream cheese, out of a tube with a drained can of tuna, add pepper to taste and top spud after first melting butter on "quatered cut".

Around a campfire, or on a barbeque. Wrap in tin foil and place in the embers or on the coals and get that char-grilled flavour to your Baked potato.
