The Post Office take on large numbers of temporary staff particularly in the summer and at Christmas. For non-students this is usually done through the local Job Centre. Students can apply through this route but an easier way is directly through their nearest Main Mail Centre. They will want proof that you are a student, a letter from your College is usually sufficient.
Many of the jobs are indoors, so you won't always have to get up at 5.00 am and tramp round the streets with a heavy bag. Rates of pay are decent and pay is weekly via your bank account. Give it a try it, you can actually have a good time.
