Hi Nireena,
I'm your subeditor for this entry, and will be checking your entry for GuideML compliance, spelling and grammer, suitability and a few other things. If you have any changes or corrections that you want to make before this entry gets returned to the Editors for inclusion, you can post them to this conversation.
I'll also be happy to answer any questions that you have about the Peer Review or Subediting processes, and I'll keep you updated on any changes that I make.
Congratulations on having a recommended entry!

I've got a few points that I need to ask you about:
Firstly, when you talk about CSS inheritence. Would it be alright for me to expand that section a bit (I've been using CSS for a few years)?
Secondly, the XHTML 1.0 DTD says that HTML tags should be in lowercase, and I would like to know what you think about this from the POV of the code in this entry.

And while I'm waiting, I'll TRY to spell check this behemouth and make sure the code examples are OK

Here's another issue I need to discuss with you: Near the top of the entry you link to a HTML tutorial (which you have written). H2G2 editing rules say that you're not allowed to link to un-edited guide entries, so I need to know what you want me to do: If you're in the process of submitting the entry, I can wait but if you're not, you have two options:
1, Remove the link
2, Find an alternate entry which has been edited
3, Find an off-h2g2 site (possibly one created by yourself) which is a good replacement.
Your existing link looks OK to me, but rules are rules and I need to stick to them .

Hi! Sorry I didn't reply sooner.
Sure, I wouldn't mind some help explaining inheritance. There was a conversation thread in the PR version of the entry that took a stab at it; I aught to look that up...
Re: the link- I wasn't aware of that rule. I'll hunt up a couple off-H2G2 tutorials and link to those instead.
Thanks!

And don't worry about the rule: I only vaugly remembered something about linking policy anyway. It's one of those little used rules (that's probably been ignored before), but I strive to be perfect .

Right, I've finished the inheritence section, and I'll start spelling/grammer checking on Friday, 'cause I've got a load of other entries to edit before then.

I've found time to do the spelling/grammer: I'm just waiting for your input on that link now.
Thanks

Wow! Thanks for doing the edits so quickly!
I dug out the part of my web design tutorial that had links to other tutorials. Since I can't edit the entry anymore now that it's moved, please use this as the introduction:
This entry assumes prior knowledge of HTML and the basics of web page design. If you are not familiar with HTML, you might want to visit one of the sites below. They all have tutorials on HTML, but they also have tutorials on more advanced topics such as Javascript, Cascading Style Sheets, and more.
Webmonkey
W3Schools
Webreference
PageTutor
No problem about the rule- it's a sensible one and a quick tweak.
Cute analogy about the car: that's better than what I could do to explain inheritance. One of those things I can understand but can't explain to someone else to save my soul...

Hey,
Thanks for the new intro, I've added it to the entry. Now that we've sorted out all of the issues, I'm going to submit the entry to the Editors, who'll check it over when they get time (i.e. a few weeks) and then put it into the Edited Guide (with caps ).
Once the entry is Edited, I'll unsubscribe from this thread, but before then you can ask me any questions that you want. However, you should know that I can't edit the entry any more.
Thanks and congratulations,
Axe

Axe,
"will be checking your entry for GuideML compliance, spelling and grammer", and "found time to do the spelling/grammer" - it's spelled "grammar"...
Pedantically yours,
