Heh! It was a bit of an oxymoron (is that the right word?) type thing. If it wasn't for the lab tech we would all drown in a sea of our own rubber gloves/bottles of propanol/optics etc.
I only know one truly neat researcher (out of 30 nice messy ones). My boss oft quoptes the maxim, "an ordered mind is an abomination"!

Thanks god for that I was a bit worried there for a while.
My boss once told us we should able to eat our dinner of our fumehood floors - hmm. Rather him than me - no matter *how much* it was cleaned.
