Were called Telperion and Laurelin.
The name Niaqualonte mentioned in the text may be an alternative name for one of them (they *were* the trees of many names) but the two above are the ones most commonly used.

and the episode of Sauron from the Silmarillion quoted was not from the Lay of Lethian (Beren and Luthien) but either from the Narn i hin Hurin (tale of the children of Hurin) I think.
Sauron's contribution to the tale of Beren and Luthien was to imprison Beren and Finrod in the dungeons under Minas Tirith on Tol Sirion and to Kill Finrod but to be overcome by the hound of Celegorm - Huan.
