Scanning the subjects the most important liqued in my life has yet to have a mention.

Snakebite = 1/2 pt of Larger + 1/2 pt of Cyder
Variants:
Add blackcurrent squash to make it drinkable - Snakebite and black or Diesel.
Add Pernod (a shot) to make it Pernod Diesel
Pernod Diesel + Vodka (1 shot) = Purple Nasty
Pernod Diesel + Vodka (3 shots) = Screaming Purple Barstard.

I normaly start off with Diesel and add whatever spirits I think are going to mix well for a good start to a night out. I would say Rum is the best to add if you don't like Pernod.

One interesting version of a snakebite is to add a (generous) shot of blue bols. This will turn your snakebite green, hence the name that i know it by- a green monster. The main drawback though is it's uncanny resemblance to washing up liquid (in both appearance and taste) but once this psychological barrier has been breached, most people find that they have a strange compulsion for it. Enjoy.

I likew my snakebite pure and simple with a bit of kick.
