A Conversation for London Underground Poster Art
Tube maps with a twist - including Liverpool

Simon Patterson's The Great Bear was of course a fabulous artistic reworking of the London Tube map, with lines of philosophers and explorers etc replacing the staions.
I created a similar idea with Liverpool's Merseyrail map called Centre of the Universe, which a quick search will reveal hangs as public art in two stations in the city.
Tiger Woods is at Hoylake where he won the 2008 Open, Dan Dare at Southport where the comic character was created, and soccer star Steven Gerrard at his home of Huyton.
It is very fulfilling to create something like this, which stresses the cultural wealth of the region.
I also recommend Mark Ovenden's Metro Maps of the World (Capital Transport Publishing, I'm not being paid for this plug) for a detailed look at, and history of, all the tube maps of the world.
