After reading this article I found the following resources extremely useful. I was going to write an application to perform geolocation and convert to the site visitors currency automatically.

If you want to get access to a geolocation database to write your own application:

or
http://www.ip2location.com/
are the people who sell access to the geolocation database.

I was looking to use it to add currency conversion to the websites we design (we are a website design company) - HOWEVER there is an easy option I've found if you were going down the same path as me!

These guys do all the geolocation stuff at the backend and you can paste it into your site. You can brand it up so it looks like you've done the design.
