A Conversation for Irony

I thought I should mention the author of the brilliant 'A Hearbreaking Work of Staggering Genius'. This book's second edition contains a hilarious spleen-venting section about irony and its misuses. He does go a bit far, as his definition would exclude some of the examples others have posted here, but it's understandable in his case. Just Zis Guy's entry on irony has a similar feel to it - he has hopefully read the passage. It makes you look at footnotes in a different way, at least.

What page is it on?

I'll have a read of it next time I'm working...

It's on page 33 at the back of the book, but only in later editions which have a 'Mistakes We Knew We Were Making' section. Remember your magnifying glass.
