It's understood that the days of the week are named after the 7 visible "planets" and their associated Gods.
But why do they follow a particular sequence?
The logical order would be starting with the nearest ie the moon(1) & progressing to the furthest away ie Saturn(7)or even in reverse order, 7-1.
Instead, the sequence is 1,5,2,6,3,7,4
If the planets are marked around a circle following their "natural" order and their named days are connected by lines intersecting the circle, this produces a seven pointed star.
Who discovered this? (It wasn't Aleister Crowley!)
Were the days of the week intentionally named in a deliberate sequence to produce this effect?
