After reading this great entry about Anne Bonny and Mary Read,
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/A5998774
on the front page today I was inspired to pull together some information on this famous pirate. I've been sitting on it all for a while, and it's inspired me to action...Hopefully I'll get similar entries pulled together and written soon enough on William Kidd ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/A6985830), Calico Jack (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/A6985678) and Blackbeard (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/A6985731) to complement my Oak Island (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/A6084399) entry as well...
I hope you like it, one day we can have a whole pirates sub-section...any thoughts guys!
GARRRR!!!

Speaking as a part-time pirate I heartily approve of this Entry!
I'll give it a better read later, but I'll just say for now that the final sentance should be removed... for me at least it spoils the Entry.

Oh, and on the subject of pirate subsections: I'm currently updating the existing Pirates of the Spanish Main Entry, so if this gets picked before I finish I'll be sure to link to it!

Since you're planning lots of related entries, have you thought of making this a university project?
For an intro to the university, see:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/university
And for a run-down on what a 'project' is, see:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/university-what
What you're planning certainly looks to me like it fits the requirements. (And you'd get a badge for your personal space)

Great idea!
I've created the front page here...

and have sent my proposal off to the faculty...wait and see what happens now!
