Well done on getting Lords of Midnight into the Edited Guide! A deserving entry, as I said before!

yes i remember the lords of midnight. This is what games were like in 1985.I remember the piece of card that used to fit over the Spectrum,s rubber keyboard and the on screen prompts"the ice fear is very strong."In some ways these early games had a charm that is unique

Have any of you played the excellent PC remake of Lords of Midnight? It's superb

It is good. There's also a yahoogroup where some people have been chronicling their development of 3D engines for LOM. Very droolworthy.

One of my favourite Spectrum games.
The first person perspective gives atmosphere like no other wargame.
The evil hordes slowly appearing through the mountains...
There was a similar (non-Mike Singleton) game called Into Africa featuring jungle, deserts and notwhat. It would have been great were it not for a terrible command system.
Unless I am mistaken, Mr Singleton also wrote the spectrum version of War In Middle Earth which had similar mechanics but was traditional top-down view.
The Dark Sceptre was another fascinating Singleton game... has anyone played this?
