FYI, I was just reading this and the footnote that says:
And given that Cherry worked at a new place in each book, and that there were 27 books, you can see that she had quite a work history!
would be better, grammatically, if it said:
Cherry worked at a new place in each book -- given that there were 27 books, you can see that she had quite a work history!
