What a fantastic place, makes the V&A and the Horniman museum collections extremely dull. The really interesting bit is that as you pass the cases the instruments play through your headphones! This would be useful for GCSE & A level students to be able to hear progression of tone through the development of an instrument. A few more 'hands on' bits and pieces would intrest the kids.
Well worth a visit!

Sounds like I need to go back... I visited there a couple of years ago and loved it (and bought a facsimile edition of Recorder sonatas by Loeillet) but the refurbishment sounds well worth it
