h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi all,


finally we have done it. We, the Student theatre of the University of Bath
performed last week "Die Feuerzangenbowle" for the first time (as far as I know)
in English!
For PR reasons we gave it an English title, too: "The Punch"
(derived from flaming redwine punch).
Our cast was half British and the audiences mainly British and both loved the play.
This should contradict people who previously alleged, that one has to have a
German sense of humor to find it funny.

Hi.
Having lived in north Germany for some 15 years now, we invite our neighbours around each year (winter months are best)to have a Feuerzangenbowle. It has become somewhat of a custom in our little village. Here are a few photos for the people that aren't familiar with what it looks like.

I find the black and white film not funny at all. Lots of old men sitting down at a table reminiscing about old time.
Another custom, much better, is Dinner For One:
